In case you didn’t know –
During the IPL 2019 edition, Andre Russell single-handedly snatched the victory from RCB’s hands in front of their home crowd. Batting first, on the brilliant knocks from Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, RCB managed to post a huge total of 205/3. KKR had a good start chasing the target of 206. However, KKR kept losing wickets on the regular interval. An RCB victory looked likely when KKR needed 53 runs in the last 3 overs with Russell and Shubman Gill on the strike. However, what happened next stunned Virat Kohli and RCB supporters. The Kolkata Knight Riders’ allrounder Andre Russell went berserk on bowlers to chase down the total in the next 2.1 overs only with 5 balls remaining. Russell played a knock of 48 runs off just 13 deliveries including one four and seven sixes. KKR miraculously won the match by 5 wickets and ‘Dre Russ’ was deservingly awarded the man of the match.
