WATCH: Adil Rashid bamboozles Aaron Finch with perfect googly

The dead rubber between England and Australia saw some interesting events take place as both the fought hard for a victory as the #1 ranking was for the taking. Australia have successfully retained their #1 ranking in the shortest format of the game after beating England in the 3rd T20I at Southampton.
The wrist spinner Adil Rashid bowled a magnificent delivery to school the Australian captain Aaron Finch which made everyone to go in awe of the delivery. Australia were chasing a modest target of 146 in their 20 overs and they started off with a bang but Adil Rashid’s heroics didn’t made the life easier for the Australians.

Australia were 87 for the loss of 3 wickets and they needed another 59 runs from 57 balls when this incident took place in the match. Aaron Finch was batting on 39 runs from 26 balls and was looking set to take his team home but the loopy googly that the destructive opener had no idea on how to keep it out.

The ball was well flighted by Adil Rashid so that the ball dipped considerably to disguise the batsman and it turned in to take the top of middle which turned out to be a wrist spinner’s delight. Adil Rashid was turning the ball square at Southampton and at one point in time, he became unplayable that the batsmen decided to play him out. In the end, Adil Rashid finished with the figures of 4 overs for 21 runs and 3 wickets.

Australia retain their #1 ranking in T20Is.

Earlier, Australia bowled very well to restrict the Poms to 145 runs. Each of their 5 frontline bowlers were amongst the wickets. They started the chase with a bang as Matthew Wade smashed Jorfra Archer for a 4 and a 6 to make intentions clear.
It was Mitchell Marsh who steered his team home towards the end as he finished with a 36 ball 39 runs knock. With England winning the T20I series 2-1, the 1st of the 3 match ODI series begins on 11th of September.
