Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has said that he wants to represent India in 2019 World Cup as he aims for a comeback in the Indian ODI team.
Ashwin also praised Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah saying that they will be crucial in the ongoing India tour of UK.
“It depends on what team selectors and team management think about my cricket. Like every other cricketer I want to wear blue jersey and represent my country at the World Cup,” he said.
“I have reached that stage of my career now that physically and mentally I want to enjoy my cricket. If I get an opportunity, I would love to grab it with both the hands,” he added.

Ashwin also said that a limited overs series against England would be a difficult one especially after their win against the Aussies.
The KXIP captain said that Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar would be crucial at the death overs.
“England is a strong side. They have changed their strategies and team combination after the 2015 World Cup. I am expecting a high scoring series.”
“We have good fast bowlers who did very well during South Africa tour. Spinners have a great chance to show their skills as it would be the second half of summer and spin will be a contributing factor,” he said.
Talking about India’s exemplary run, he also said, “India have performed really well in the last two years. I agree that this is going to be tough for India, but I don’t it will be easy for England as well.”
He has bowled leg-spin in the Indian Premier League and Ashwin was not very sure if he would use his wrist spin in England.
He said that he doesn’t do experimentation and there was a logic behind everything that he did.
R Ashwin is part of India squad for the Test series against England, but he is not a part of India ODI squad.
