Live video sessions are becoming a popular entity among cricketers amidst lockdown. The latest to join this league is Indian pacer Mohammad Shami. The Indian pacer was involved in a live video session with Yuzvendra Chahal where he picked between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as his best friend.

Mohammad Shami has been an integral member of India’s Test and ODI setup. He has shared the dressing room with both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the past. When a fan asked him to pick between Virat and Rohit, here’s what he had to say;

It was a tough choice, but he picked Indian skipper Virat Kohli with whom he gels well. In the video he described, he has better compatibility with Virat Kohli only because Rohit Sharma is often quiet.

He said, I don’t talk much with Rohit Sharma on the phone because he uses his phone very less while at home, on the other hand, I have a better understanding with Virat and we crack jokes with each other.

He further added,

With Virat, I do have conversations on the phone very often and it is from the starting that I and Virat gel well with each other.

Mohammad Shami definitely eyeing a T20 World Cup berth

In 2019, Mohammad Shami emerged as the leading wicket-taker for India across formats. With more than 70 wickets, he was at the pole position for India and the second-best after Australia’s Pat Cummins.

However, he has had consistency issues in the shortest format of the game where he has been in and out of the side. With his focus set on ICC T20 World Cup, Shami would be hoping for the IPL to get underway sometime which could prove to be a great juncture for the T20 World Cup preparations.
