However, in order to excel further, he had to give up all the junk food, including his favorite dish. In an interview, he revealed that he had to quit Chole Bhature for nearly 4 years. Hence, quitting junk food has helped him reduce his weight.
Turning into a vegetarian
Post his marriage to Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli followed in the footsteps of his wife and turned vegetarian. Earlier, he used to feast on boiled chicken for his protein intake. However, after being a vegetarian, he now intakes animal-free meat and other veg sources of protein. He also consumes a considerable amount of quality cheese in order to maintain healthy fat. Apart from that, he consumes dry fruits in the morning with a full cup of black coffee.

Virat Kohli follows a couple of diet secrets. In an interview, he disclosed that he intakes green tea 3–4 times a day with a few drops of lemon. His diet also includes certain types of antioxidants and Blackwater with additional minerals. He believes that his metabolism is not that strong, and he can put on weight in just a few days if he cheats on the diet. Hence, he makes sure that the diet plan is followed each day.
