Virat Kohli donates 6.77 lakh to help ailing mother of a former cricketer

Virat Kohli donation: It has definitely been a critical test of India’s medical infrastructure in this battle against the second wave of Covid-19. In the last couple of months, the people of India has struggled a lot due to a massive dearth of oxygen supplies and other medical facilities. Team India captain Virat Kohli has once again stepped ahead to provide financial support to former India Woman cricketer K.S. Sravanthi Naidu’s mother SK Suman who has contracted the deadly coronavirus and is currently undergoing treatment for the same.

Indian team captain Virat Kohli has donated INR 6.77 lakh for former Indian Woman cricketer K.S. Sravanthi Naidu’s mother who is presently fighting against covid-19. Earlier, Sravanthi had also requested the BCCI, Hyderabad Cricket Association and other associations to help her in these tough circumstances. Incidentally, it was N Vidya Yadav, former BCCI South Zone convenor had tagged Virat Kohli in a Twitter post seeking help for Sravanthi’s ailing mother as the former Indian cricketer had already spent INR 16 lakh for the treatment. Apart from Kohli, India’s fielding coach R Sridhar had also posted in his Instagram story about Sravanthi’s mother being critical due to suffering from covid-19 while appealing his followers to help them.

“Honestly, I was amazed at his spontaneous gesture. Such a great gesture from such a great cricketer. I am also grateful to the Indian fielding coach R. Sridhar who also took up the issue with Kohli,” N Vidya Yadav said while speaking to Sportstar.

After the suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Virat Kohli has tried his level best to support the country in this challenging battle against Covid-19. Virat along with his wife Anushka Sharma had started a fundraiser initiative only a few days ago where the couple had also donated an amount worth INR 2 crores. The same fundraiser has now collected a whopping amount close to INR 11 crores and all the money is being used for the welfare of covid-19 patients who are in serious need of oxygen supplies and other necessary medications.
