Virat Kohli dedicates the Trent Bridge win to Kerala flood victims

Team India’s special dedication

India registered a thumping victory against England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. India outplayed England by 203 runs to make the score line 2-1 and the team has collectively decided to dedicate their win to the Kerala flood victims.

Talking at the post-match presentation, Indian skipper Virat Kohli said, “We as a team want to dedicate the win to the Kerala flood victims back home.”

When asked about the memories of 2014, Kohli asserted that he hasn’t thought about it much. He also said that he would like to dedicate his performances of this tour so far to his wife Anushka Sharma.

“I haven’t thought about the 2014 failures and I would like to dedicate this to my wife who always keeps motivating me. She has gone through a lot and she deserves this one,” he said.

India won the Third match in 17 balls on Wednesday.

James Anderson was dismissed by R Ashwin after Ajinkya Rahane took his catch as England were bowled out 317.

India skipper Virat Kohli took the lead from the front and led India to a victory in the third match. He scored 97 runs and 103 runs in the third Test and he was adjudged as Man of the Match for his contribution.

Kohli hailed his team’s performance and lauded the Indian batsmen, bowler and fielders.

“We dominated the game because we performed well as a team. We posted big totals and the bowlers also did well. Ashwin performed remarkably even after his injury,” he said.

Kohli was brimming with pride as his team staged a comeback to shut all the criticizers and he also praised the fitness level of his pacers.

“Indians have bowled really well in the series and the four fastest bowlers in the series are Indians. We are really proud of our fitness levels,” he concluded.

India will be taking on England on 30 August at the Rose Bowl, Southampton for the fourth Test match.
