The infamous middle-finger incident
Team India’s dismal tour of Australia in 2012 included the infamous “finger gate” incident. The Australian fans, which kept jeering Team India as Michael Clarke drove Indian bowlers into every area of the pitch, finally got to the Indian captain. Virat gave the Australian audience the middle finger in frustration over their antics. He was afterwards penalised 50% of his match fee.
Things heat up against KKR’s Gautam Gambhir
It was one of the most unexpected events to occur between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, colleagues for India and Delhi. The event happened during a match between RCB and KKR in the IPL’s 2013 season. It all began when Kohli was dismissed and was given a send-off by the then-KKR captain Gautam Gambhir. Virat disagreed with what Gambhir stated, and the two got into a heated altercation.
