2. The altercation with Gautam Gambhir in IPL
This ill-famed instance took place in the 2013 IPL during a league game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The RCB team was alleged to be sledging KKR batters during their batting. Gautam Gambhir and company decided to give it back to RCB and especially to Virat Kohli.
After getting Kohli out, KKR players started a wild celebration and sledging was on full flow. Gambhir was the leader of the pack while sledging Kohli. This made Kohli furious, and he stormed towards Gambhir. It was an ugly spat between the two Delhites and it was another Delhite Rajat Bhatia playing for KKR at that time came rushing down to separate the two.
3. Virat Kohli intentionally abusing on the stump mic
It was the third day of the third and final Test of the series at Cape Town between India and South Africa in 2022. An LBW decision of Proteas skipper Dean Elgar went against R Ashwin. Kohli went for a review, and it looked plum on the naked eye. However, the ball-tracking technology showed the ball missing the stump.

This miffed R Ashwin, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli as well. After Ashwin and KL Rahul expressed their malaise, Virat walked up to the stump mic and expressed his frustration. He said, “Focus on your team as well and not just the opposition. Always trying to catch people”. He didn’t stop there and completed by saying, “Well done, DRS. Very well done.”
