Indian captain Virat Kohli breaks yet another record

The new record
In the second Test against West Indies, Indian skipper Virat Kohli managed to break another record for himself. On Saturday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Kohli beat former Pakistani captain Misbah-ul-Haq to become the Asian player with most Test runs as captain.
Kohli, aged 29, has 4233 runs from 42 matches at an average of 65.12. As captain, he has played 69 innings. Among these, he scored 17 hundreds and 9 fifties. His predecessor, Misbah, had scored 4214 runs as captain in 56 matches at an average of 51.39.

On top of the list is South African legend Graeme Smith who has scored 8659 runs off 109 matches. After him is Australia’s Allan Border, with 6623 runs in 93 matches and Ricky Ponting with 6542 runs from 77 matches.
With regard to Indian players, MS Dhoni is at the #2 position on the list of most runs scored by an Indian captain with 3454 runs from 60 matches. The third position is held by Sunil Gavaskar who amassed 3449 runs in 47 matches.
