Umran Malik Bowling Speed: Pace sensation of Sunrisers Hyderbad, Umran Malik has broken the record for the fastest ball of this season. He clocked 157 Km/hr in the match against Delhi Capitals. He bowled this delivery in the last over of the match against Rovman Powell. This is believed to be the fastest ball bowled by an Indian ever and the 2nd fastest delivery in the history of the IPL.

During the match against Delhi Capitals on Thursday, the SRH pacer Umran Malik was spitting fire. He was consistently bowling above 150 Kmph and even crossed the 155 kmph mark twice. First he bowled a 154 Kmph delivery in the 4th over of the match when he bowled a rocket at David Warner at a good length. Later in the 12th over he bettered it by bowling 154.8 Kmph against Warner himself. This time it was a full delivery bowled towards off. Later in the 20th over of the match, he crossed 155 Kmph twice, one of which was a whopping 157 Kmph delivery. Both of those deliveries were whacked to the boundary by Rowman Powell.

Umran Malik joins the elite list
With this ball, Umran has found himself a place in the history books. As it turns out that was the 2nd fastest delivery in the history of the IPL. 157.71 Kmph bowled by Shaun Tait holds first place. 156.22 and 155.21 Kmph by Anrich Nortje holds 3rd and 4th place. Umran’s guru and legend of the game Dale Steyn sits 6th on the list with a speed of 154.4 kmph.

In his recent interview, Umran mentioned that he would love to touch the 155 kmph mark in the future. With the kind of rhythm that he is in right now, he is expected to do this quite often.
“I just want to bowl at the right areas and good wickets and if I have to bowl above 155mph, God willing, I will do one day.” Umaran said.
