India’s Umran Malik is bowling in a steaming form as he bowled the fastest ball ever by any Indian pacer in the history of the game when he clocked an astonishing bowling speed of 156 kmph. While bowling just his 10th delivery of the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka, the speedster achieved the milestone. Earlier during the first T20I game against the Lankan side in Mumbai, Umran bowled the fastest ball by an Indian cricketer in T20I cricket when he touch the 155 kmph mark. During a recent interview, he also talked about breaking former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar’s world record of clocking 161.3 kmph in the 2003 World Cup game against England.
“If I do well, and if I’m lucky, I’ll break that (Shoaib Akhtar’s record). But I don’t think about it at all. Right now, I’m only thinking about performing well for the country,” said Umran Malik during a recent interview.
“You don’t get to realize how fast you’ve bowled during the match. It’s only when we come back after the game when we get to know how fast I was. During the game, my only focus is on bowling in the right areas and picking up wickets,” Malik added.
