United Arab Emirates (UAE) gear up to host Afghanistan for an enticing three-match T20I series, set to kick off on Friday, December 29. Amidst the backdrop of two dominating Afghan victories in the warm-up games, the spotlight now turns to the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, the venue for all three matches.

In this series, Muhammad Waseem will lead the UAE squad while Hashmatullah Shahidi continues to spearhead Afghanistan in the T20 format.
In their previous encounters, Afghanistan has held a dominant record, winning eight out of the ten T20Is played against the UAE. The most recent series, dating back to February 2023, saw the Afghans claim victory with a 2-1 series triumph.
Afghanistan’s last T20I series against Bangladesh ended in defeat, marking their last appearance in July 2023. Meanwhile, the UAE stunned New Zealand in August 2023 with a victory in the second game but ultimately lost the series 2-1.
This series holds significance as part of an annual bilateral agreement between the cricket boards of both nations, aiming to engage in at least one T20I series per year.
