The future generations of cricket are taking against each other in the ongoing ICC U19 cricket world cup in South Africa. India U19s are dominating the competition with their impressive performances but they did something after the game against Japan that will win over everyone’s hearts.
Indian team invite their Japanese counterparts for a group photo
Japan got their first breakthrough in competitive International cricket when they qualified for ICC U19 world cup. In their first match in the competition, they were beaten convincingly by Indian colts. But team India invited Japan to join them for a group photo of both teams after the completion of the match. This gesture represents the sportsmanship spirit and a true depiction of gentleman’s game. It is fair to add that this gesture might have some significance from senior Indian team. Ajinkya Rahane invited visiting Afghanistan team for a group photo after their first ever test match at M Chinnaswamy stadium in 2018.
Twitter applauds gesture from young guns
Fans took to social media for their reactions on the same. Here are some of them.

India almost certain for Quarterfinals
After a comprehensive thrashing of Sri Lanka, India were clear favourites going into the match against Japan. With thunderstorm predicted in the afternoon, India elected to field first. Inexperience was there to be seen in Japanese batting lineup as emerging Indian bowlers made inroads early into the Innings. Procession continued when spinners were being brought into the attack. At one time, Japan were in serious danger of recording lowest ever score in an U19 match. They were bowled out for 41 with Ravi Bishnoi and Kartik Tyagi being star performers with 4 and 3 wickets respectively. Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kumar Kushagra took the aggressive route and chased down the target in 4.5 overs.
