Team India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to join the test squad in Australia after a successful outing in the Ranji Trophy game between Baroda and Mumbai. Hardik Pandya, who was out of the cricket field for almost three months due to a back injury, returned to the field for Baroda to prove his fitness.
In the game against Mumbai, Hardik Pandya not only looked all fit but also gave a stellar performance to claim back his seat in the national side. Finishing at 5-81 in 18.5 overs, Pandya was the pick of bowlers for Baroda in the first innings. The all-rounder also showed his worth with bat and was the last man out for his side after scoring crucial 73 runs off 137 deliveries.

National team selector, Sarandeep Singh, was in attendance during the match on Friday and reportedly had a word with Hardik Pandya later in the day. Meanwhile, the Ranji clash between Mumbai and Baroda ended in a draw. Â Â
As per reports, the national selection committee has asked Pandya to decide when he wants to join the test squad in Australia. Earlier, the management had already asked the team selectors to send Hardik Pandya to Australia once he is fully fit and ready to go.

Prithvi Shaw ruled out from the remainder of the series
Team India faced a major blow on Monday after the in-line opener Prithvi Shaw got ruled out from the remainder of the series following continued pain in his ankle. The India opener was recovering fast and was in contention to play in the Boxing Day Test at Melbourne. Shaw sustained an ankle injury while taking part in the practice match ahead of the first Test match in Adelaide.Â
The management has named Mayank Agarwal as the replacement for the India opener and will send Shaw back home.
