Quarantine has led all the cricketers all around the globe to sit back in their homes and relax. However, they are making sure that they are in regular touch with their fans.
One such act was witnessed on Monday when Australian spin legend Shane Warne went live on Instagram. He was in a live session and was seen answering some questions.
Shane Warne tipped Lara and Sachin as the best of his generation
In the live session, when someone asked him who was the best batsman of his generation, he chose Lara and Sachin for the same.
“There were these two guys, then there was daylight and after that, the rest of the batsmen came.”
He further added;
“If I have to choose any batsman to bat at any conditions, it is a real toss-up between Tendulkar and Lara, but I would just choose Tendulkar,”
He put his money on Brian Lara to bat under-pressure and chasing 400 or above.
“If we have to chase 400 runs on the last day, I would definitely pick Lara,” Warne added.
He mentioned a few other names as well
Apart from Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, the bowler took a few other names as well. He mentioned Kevin Pietersen, Rahul Dravid, Ricky Ponting, Graham Gooch who were among the best batsmen of his era.
He also mentioned Australia’s all-time Test XI
During the session, he also named his all-time Australia’s Test XI and picked Allan Border as the captain. He didn’t pick Sir Donald Bradman in his squad, and stated the reason that he never played alongside the great batsman.
“I am only picking players that I played with that is why David Warner is not going to be a part of the side, he is one of the greatest Australian openers,”
Here’s Shane Warne’s all-time Australia XI:
