Sudhir Gautam seen on top of hill: Team India’s super fan Sudhir Gautam is a long term devotee of Indian Cricket. It is difficult to not spot him in the stands, whenever the Men in Blue set foot on the field. However, with the ongoing India vs England ODI series taking place behind closed doors, it was virtually impossible to have Sudhir in support of his team.

However, a recent picture is making the rounds over the internet, in which Sudhir was taking a birds eye view from the hills into the stadium, while witnessing the 1st ODI. It was astonishing to watch one of Team India’s biggest fans showing his endless support from a distance.
Sudhir Gautam, belongs from Bihar, and has been quite a figure in the fan circle. He has Sachin Tendulkar’s name painted to his torso, which signifies his admiration for the Little Master, along with the Indian Tri Color as well. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sudhir along with plenty of other cricket fans have had to miss the action from within the stadium on quite a few occasions.
Earlier this year, when England toured Sri Lanka for a two match Test series, an English fan named Rob Lewis also went through a similar situation as Sudhir’s. Lewis was in Galle and got stranded there as a result of a nationwide lock down. So during the first Test at Galle, Rob Lewis climbed the ramparts of the Galle Fort to show his support to the England cricket team.

The England players did notice him, and Joe Root even dedicated his double hundred to Lewis. After England won the Test, the skipper Joe Root also had a word with Lewis on call, wishing him the best of health and luck for the future.
Just when fans were steadily being allowed back in, the recent rise in COVID-19 cases has given the governing bodies no other option but to play the game behind closed doors. With the IPL around the corner, it will be interesting to see if fans such Sudhir and the rest are allowed back in during the latter half of the tournament.
