Road Safety World Series: Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara go toe-to-toe yet again

After the Bushfire Cricket Bash, former Cricketing greats Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara will once again be confronting one another on the field for a noble cause. The two legends will be competing in a T20 tournament by the name of the ‘Unacademy Road Safety World Series.’ In the first game, the Indian legends will face the West Indies Legends at the Wankhede Stadium on March 7.

As per the organisers, the series is being held in order to create awareness about road safety. The Unacademy Road Safety World Series will have a total number of 11 games. The tournament will consist of other big names as well, such as Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Jonty Rhodes, Brian Lara, Tilakaratne Dilshan, Brett Lee and Muttiah Muralitharan to name a few.
Road Safety World Series Venues
Two matches will be hosted at the Wankhede, four at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, four at the D Y Patil Stadium and the final hame will take place at the Brabourne Stadium on March 22. Two of the games in Pune will be between South Africa legends and India legends (March 14) followed by the Australian legends vs India legends.
Former India opening batsman, Sunil Gavaskar is the commissioner of the series. Ravi Gaikwad, the RTO Chief of Thane and a senior member of the Road Safety Cell of Maharashtra had this to say.
“I am extremely glad for the fans and I am sure they will come in large numbers to cheer for the legends and also support this important cause of creating awareness towards road safety in the country.”
