Sri Lanka vs India: Shikhar Dhawan Available for 2nd T20I? Here’s the update

The India tour of Sri Lanka has been entertaining due to the competitive spirit of both the teams. The latest news to come yesterday from the series was the COVID positive case of Krunal Pandya which postponed the 2nd T20I match to Wednesday.

Shikhar Dhawan available for SL vs IND 2nd T20I?

The covid positive case rocked both the team’s camps and all the players underwent RT-PCR test. Initially, the 8 close contacts of Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, Suryakumar Yadav, Prithvi Shaw, Manish Pandey, Ishan Kishan and Krishnappa Gowtham were tested negative. But they will undergo isolation to stop the spread of cases. Now there are news from reliable sources about the absence of the captain Shikhar Dhawan who has also went into isolation.

According to Sports Tak, “Shikhar Dhawan also will not be available for the remaining of the T20I series against Sri Lanka as he’s in isolation.”

Earlier Sri Lanka Cricket source confirmed that the 8 close contacts of all-rounder will not be a part of the series.

“Both teams will be retested in morning. Few of the Indian cricketers are in complete isolation and they will not play any further part in the series. We at SLC are all monitoring the situation. We are sure today’s match will go ahead”, confirmed the SLC Source.

Players to Watch out in SL vs IND 2nd T20I

D Silva: The talented middle-order batsman has not been impressive in the last few matches but if he stays in the crease for some time, he has the ability to stabilize and finish the innings well.

R Chahar: With Chahal out of 2nd T20I, the young spinner can get a chance to showcase his skills and win the series for the visitors. He has performed well in the IPL, and has 3 wickets in 3 T20I matches.
