Pakistan were the finalists of the recently held Asia cup 2022 in UAE. They outplayed India in almost both the games, and all this in the absence of their best pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi. Pakistan have demoted Fakhar Zaman from being in the main squad to reserves. He has been in poor form in the recent past and it is an understandable move from them, meanwhile Shan Masood retains his place in the squad.
