The second round of WT20 kickstarts today with a double header as Australia lock horns with South Africa in Abu Dhabi in a day game while West Indies take on England in Dubai in the night game.

India will play their arch-rivals in Pakistan in their tournament opener in Dubai on 24^th of October. The former Indian captain and the current day broadcaster Sunil Gavaskar has predicted four teams that would make the semi finals and also went on to wish for an India- Pakistan final.

Sunil Gavaskar wants a repeat of 2007 WT20

The clash between India and Pakistan is considered as the mother of all clashes. The excitement for the cricket fans when these two teams meet on the cricket field is unparalleled and has not been matched by any other game to date.

In 2007, when ICC launched the world cup for T20 cricket, they couldn’t have asked for a better finish than India-Pakistan final which ended in a thrilling finish with MS Dhoni led India lifting the trophy. That game and tournament acted as an massive advertisement to the shortest format of the game. Sunil Gavaskar wants a repeat of that in this year’s WT20 and this is what he had to say about it.
