The 1 time WT20 champion and 2 times IPL champion in Sunil Narine has been put under the scanner for one more time as his bowling has been reported for illegal action and this is not new for the spin bowling all rounder.
He was first reported for illegal action in 2014 in Champions league and he didn’t even play the 2015 world cup because of that. He also received a warning in the 2015 IPL from BCCI for his action.
Sunil Narine under the scanner
KKR defeated CSK and KXIP mainly due to Sunil Narine’s heroics as he bowled the crucial overs for them and changed the momentum of the game with his excellent bowling.
After the match against KXIP where he defended 13 runs in the final over he was reported for suspect bowling action by the on field umpires. The IPL release stated that,
The report was made by the on-field umpires according to the IPL’s Suspected Illegal Bowling Action Policy, Narine will be placed on the Warning List and is permitted to continue to bowl in the tournament
KKR will be facing the in form Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next game in Sharjah on 12th of October. The most important member of their team in Andre Russell might not play the game as he got injured in the previous game. With Sunil Narine being reported, KKR will be under immense pressure.
Captain Dinesh Karthik back to form
KKR would be very happy with the things have panned out for them in the season so far. Their bowling attack has been top notch from the 2nd game of the season and they never looked back from then.
Their captain Dinesh Karthik was under the scanner with his form and many were even batting for his sacking but he proved that form is temporary and class is permanent. The way he played in the game against KXIP was a prime example of what a quality T20 player he is. He scored a 29 ball 58 at a strike rate of exactly 200 on a difficult wicket to bat which helped KKR to go past a match winning total.
