Jonny Bairstow hit wicket: Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman was dismissed in a bizarre manner in the last game against Mumbai Indians. In the MI vs SRH IPL 2021 match, Bairstow was on song and was playing aggressively. However, his innings came to an unfortunate end when he shattered his own stumps while attempting a ramp shot. The unfortunate run-out of Bairstow triggered a familiar collapse for SRH and they ended up losing the game.

Chasing MI’s total of 150 runs, SRH got off to a cracking start. Jonny Bairstow ransacked Trent Boult for 18 runs in the third over and then drilled Adam Milne for two consecutive sixes in the next over. He continued the carnage by nailing another six against Krunal Pandya.
The wicket-keeper batsman scored 43 runs in no time and pushed SRH to 67 runs in just 7 overs. He was looking in a dangerous mood and it seemed as if he would run away with the game.

But then, on the second ball of the 8th over, Bairstow decided to ramp Krunal Pandya. However, he couldn’t get in the right position and ended up cramping himself. He lost his balance and his backfoot crashed on the base of the stumps.

SRH lose the game in a familiar fashion
SRH needed 84 runs from 76 balls when Bairstow departed. The team had nine wickets and Warner looked set at the other end. However, the middle order fumbled yet again and SRH was short of the target by 13 runs.

Rahul Chahar sent back Manish Pandey for a duck in the next over while Hardik Pandya’s brilliant fielding accounted for Warner’s run-out. Chahar snapped two wickets in his last over to inflict further damage. Then Bumrah and Boult kept their calm in the death overs to register a second win for the team.
