SRH vs RR, Match 5 of IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals Player Availability & Probable Playing XI

Rajasthan Royals is one team that is not affected by player availaibilty at the start of IPL 2022. Their first RR playing XI remains intact. Let’s take a look at Rajasthan Royals team composition for the game against SRH.

SRH vs RR: Rajasthan Royals to field strong playing XI

Rajasthan Royals would not be pleased with their auction performance to say the least. The fact that they overspent on Prasidh Krishna and Devdutt Padikkal bit them very hard later in the auction as they had to settle for a shortened batting lineup in the competition. Their batting literally ends at #6 with either of Nathan Coulter-Nile, Daryl Mitchell or Jimmy Neesham needing to play at #7 for the sake of team balance.

One thing RR would feel relieved about is the availability of all of their first choice overseas players right from the beginning of the tournament. This gives them a edge over other teams as most of the teams miss their star players atleast for first week of the IPL.

RR have one of the best spin attacks in the competition with two Indian high quality complementary spinners in Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. The fact that they bought both these spinners at a combined rate of 11.5 crores turned out to be an auction masterclass. Although none of their spinners could contribute with the bat, their quality with the ball compromises for everything.

An in experienced Prasidh Krishna will be the lead Indian bowler in this season for RR. He did have a great series against West Indies but his lack of control is still a serious concern and the fact that they have Trent Boult as the other pacer does make their pace attack weak on paper.
