During the toss, it was noted that Dinesh Karthik is not included in the starting RCB playing XI for this SRH vs RCB match on Thursday. Interestingly, he is part of the five substitute members list out of which one can be used as an Impact Player at any moment in the match. However, Karthik has not been in the best of forms especially with the bat during the ongoing IPL 2023 season so far having scored just 140 runs from as many as 12 matches at a strike-rate of 135.92. In his absence, Anuj Rawat is the wicket-keeper for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. It will be interesting to see whether Dinesh Karthik comes out as the Impact Player in the second innings or not.

We have to start afresh. The game of cricket has a funny way of biting you. You have to have the humility of looking at a fresh game,” said Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis during the toss.
