In the Match 25 of Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) season, the Mumbai Indians (MI) have managed to register a pretty convincing 14-run victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. After having lost their opening two matches, the five-time champions MI have made an excellent comeback with three back-to-back wins in IPL 2023.

For the Mumbai Indians, Cameron Green finally came to the party and proved the worth of his big price tag of INR 17.50 Crore. While coming onto bat at No 3 position, the lanky Australian batsman smacked a beautiful half-century in the first innings. Green also bowled very well having finished with fine figures of 1 for 29 and thus, he was named the Man of the Match award winner in this SRH vs MI IPL 2023 match.

The Mumbai Indians once again got off to a fantastic start at the top as both their openers, Ishan Kishan and skipper Rohit Sharma looked in a fine touch having registered an explosive opening stand of 41 runs off just 28 balls. MI captain Rohit once again failed to convert his start of 28 runs while Ishan scored 38 runs off 31 balls that included 3 fours and 2 sixes. During the middle-overs stage, left-handed Tilak Varma played an exciting cameo of 37 runs off only 17 deliveries that included 4 sixes and 2 fours. However, Cameron Green batted amazingly well in Hyderabad having smashed a brilliant unbeaten innings 64 runs off only 40 balls that consisted of 6 fours and 2 sixes.
The Mumbai Indians pummelled as many as 62 runs in the last 5 overs to finish with a challenging total of 192 for 5 in their 20 overs on the board. Towards the end, Tim David also blasted two incredible sixes. For the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Marco Jansen ended up taking as many as two wickets while Bhuvneshwar and Natarajan picked up a wicket each.
During the big run-chase, the Sunrisers Hyderabad had a really poor start as their in-form opening batsman Harry Brook got dismissed by Jason Behrendorff in just the second over. Rahul Tripathi also failed to contribute much with the bat as SRH collapsed to 25 for 2 in 3.4 overs SRH captain Aiden Markram once again got a start of 22 runs but this time he failed to convert it into a big innings. The Sunrisers Hyderabad kept on losing wickets at regular intervals which never allowed them to take any momentum barring Heinrich Klaasen’s cameo of 36 runs off 16 balls.
Towards the end, Green was also exceptional with the ball while young Arjun Tendulkar also bowled a fantastic final over where he successfully defended 20 runs and also took his first wicket in Indian Premier League to power Mumbai Indians to a superb 14-run win. For MI, the duo of Jason Behrendorff and Piyush Chawla took two crucial wickets each.
