The Sunrisers Hyderabad are hosting Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in match no 58 of Tata IPL 2023. Lucknow have made quite a few changes to their eleven and one shocking change was the exclusion of out of form batter Deepak Hooda. Deepak has been under the pump in this season and his exclusion from the 11 was coming.

SRH vs LSG Match: Why is Deepak Hooda Not Playing Today’s IPL Match?

After losing the toss and being asked to bowl first, Krunal Pandya, the stand-in captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, confirmed that Deepak Hooda would not be part of the LSG playing XI for the SRH vs LSG match on Saturday afternoon. Hooda is among the five substitute members, with the opportunity to be used as an Impact Player during the game. Unfortunately, Hooda has been struggling with his batting form in the ongoing IPL 2023 season, scoring just 28 runs from 10 matches at a disappointing strike-rate of less than 90. As a result, the LSG team management has opted to include batting all-rounder Prerak Mankad in the side instead of Deepak Hooda.

“We would have batted first as well, but I don’t mind (bowling) either. It has been an up and down season for us. You have to play good cricket, that’s what matters. The wicket looks good and it will play the same. We have a couple of  changes, Prerak and Yudhvir are in for Hooda and Mohsin.“
