SRH vs KKR IPL 2022: Is Washington Sundar Playing Today?

Washington Sundar IPL 2022: After two comprehensive losses at the start, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have made a strong comeback in this ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) season. The Kane Williamson-led SRH team has now defeated both Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings by convincing margins to claim the 8th position on the points table. The Sunrisers Hyderabad will now be locking horns with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 15 April, 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

SRH vs KKR IPL 2022: Is Washington Sundar Playing Today?

In a big blow for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, premier spinner Washington Sundar will not be available for their important game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday after he had torn the webbing in his right hand between his thumb and first finger. Sundar sustained the injury while fielding during the last match against Gujarat Titans and also could not complete his quota of four overs finishing with figures of 0/14. After the game, SRH head coach Tom Moody also mentioned that the off-spinner will be missing atleast the next two matches.

“Washington has torn the webbing in his right hand, between his thumb and first finger. We must monitor that over the next two-three days. Hopefully, it isn’t a significant blow. I’d imagine it’d take probably a week or so to settle down,” said Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody.

Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders: Probable SRH Playing 11

For the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Washington Sundar has delivered some crucial performances this season both with the ball and bat. He has taken as many as 4 wickets and also scored 58 runs so far in IPL 2022. Therefore, his absence will leave a big void in the SRH playing 11. One of Abdul Samad or Shreyas Gopal are expected to replace Sundar in the side.
