SRH Playing XI: Sunrisers Hyderabad have given early shades of their dismal last year’s performance already in IPL 2022. Having lost two out of two, Sunrisers Hyderabad will now take on a struggling unit of Chennai Super Kings in a quest to register their first win of this season.
Nothing has gone right for Sunrisers this year as well and they are looking for a desperate win to get going in this competition. Despite having the biggest purse at the auction, SRH failed to build a strong middle order which haunted them last year as well. How will Kane Williamson-led side bring in their A-game against the Super Kings who too are eyeing their first win of the season? What will be their combination against the Ravindra Jadeja-led CSK? Let’s discuss.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Playing XI Team news
- Unavailable: Sean Abbott
- Sean Abbott is still in quarantine after he joined the squad on April 6 evening. He will be available for selection from SRH’s next match.
- Kartik Tyagi has completed his quarantine period and is available for selection now.
- Their batting has been dismal right from the start of this season giving us a shade of what happened last time around.
- Abhishek Sharma isn’t an established opener and he has been struggling against the new ball quite evidently.
- Kane Williamson should look to open with a seasoned opener like Aiden Markram while Rahul Tripathi can bat at no 3.
- After two failures, Abhishek Sharma could make way for someone like Ravikumar Samart or Samarth Singh who have been waiting in the wings and have proved their mettle in the domestic circuit.
- We could also see Marco Jansen getting a nod ahead of Romario Shepherd in this game.
- Umran Malik’s pace has been intimidating but batsmen have found it way too easy to handle him. Kartik Tyagi could be a good replacement for Umran, but the team management might back the latter for a game or two given his searing pace.
