SL vs NZ 3rd T20I: Sigh of relief for Kiwis, star batsman cleared to play

With quite a few players unfit, New Zealand is struggling hard to manage its playing11 for the third and the final T20I series in the away match against Sri Lanka. The three key players of the New Zealand team have picked up a raft of injuries after which the team’s goal to win the series with 3-0 is looking a bit doubtful.

Martin Guptil ruled out for the 3rd T20I against Sri Lanka
Martin Guptill was unable to bat in the second T20I against Sri Lanka after straining a stomach muscle in the field. After unable to recover from his injury the batsman has been ruled out from the third T20I.
Ross Taylor is fit and available for the next T20I
After swinging the bat in the wrong direction and thereby missing the ball, Taylor experienced a twinge in the hip and hence, he was ruled out from the 2nd T20I. But as per latest updates, he is fit and ready to play the 3rd T20I against Sri Lanka.
“I swung at the ball a bit too hard, swung and missed, and felt [the hip] twinge a little bit. More of a precautionary measure, nothing major,” Ross said.
Tom Bruce injury conditions to be monitored before the 3rd T20I
Bruce replaced Taylor in the 2nd T20I against Sri Lanka in Pallekele and scored a terrific 53 runs off 46 balls before losing his grip in the final over. After which, Mitchel Santner with much effort secured a tense win.
Bruce faced some difficulties in his right knee and he will be examined before getting a green flag to play in the final XI.
