India’s tour of Sri Lanka finally came to an end after home side crushed Shikhar Dhawan-led side in the three-match T20I series. The young Indian side impressed everyone in the ODI series but failed to set the stage on fire in the T20Is. The depleted Indian side failed to tackle the Sri Lankan spinners in the last two matches at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo.

The Indian team after being rocked by the COVID-19 that left them with a shortage of players, ahead of the second T20I, decided to continue with the tour and ensured the Sri Lankan board didn’t suffer any financial losses.

Despite losing the T20I series, the Indian skipper for the Sri Lankan tour Shikhar Dhawan was brilliant with his performance with both and being the leader of the side. After the conclusion of the third and the final T20I, Dhawan was seen speaking about the process and sharing words of wisdom with the inexperienced Sri Lankan players.

SL vs IND: Shikhar Dhawan reveals his conversation with Sri Lankan players
The Indian skipper at the post-match presentation revealed the conversation he had with the Sri Lankan players. Further talking about the match, the left-handed batsman said that he’s proud of his team as they showed great character in the last two games despite being in a difficult situation.
“The Sri Lanka captain and players wanted to know about my process, so I told them, and I hope they enjoyed listening to it. It was a difficult situation for us. As a team, we decided to stay and play these games. Really proud of the boys as well. They showed great character in the last two games. Their attitude was tremendous. We wanted to win as well, in every game you learn. It was an off-day for our batting unit. We lost too many wickets, SL bowled well,” Shikhar Dhawan said.
