SL vs AUS: Is Wanindu Hasaranga Playing Today? Here’s the update
Following the 1st ODI against Australia, Sri Lanka’s premier spinner Wanindu Hasaranga sustained a groin muscle strain. This is the major reason for his absence from the Sri Lanka playing 11 from the second ODI game. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) posted on Twitter that Hasaranga suffered the groin injury while fielding during the first ODI match against Australia and the medical team is still assessing his recovery.
However, there is still no clear update on weather Wanindu Hasaranga will be available for the crucial third ODI against Australia on Sunday.
“Wanindu Hasaranga, who suffered a groin muscle strain, while fielding during the 1st ODI is currently under the supervision of the Team’s Medical Team,” Sri Lanka Cricket tweeted.
“The medical team is assessing his situation and will update the team management on a daily basis about the player’s condition. Hence, Hasaranga will continue to remain with the squad during the entirety of the ODI series.”
