Sri Lanka Players Covid Positive SL vs AUS: In a big news update, as many as three Sri Lankan players have tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the second and final Test match against Australia scheduled to start from 8 July, 2022 (Friday) at the Galle International Stadium in Galle. The host Sri Lankan side ended up losing the opening Test match by a comprehensive margin of 10 wickets. Australia now have a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.

In a massive development, the Sri Lankan trio of Dhananjaya de Silva, Jeffrey Vandersay and Asitha Fernando have tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the second and final Test match against Australia. Following this update, the hosts are very much likely to give the spin duo of Maheesh Theekshana and Dunith Wellalage their maiden Test caps. Veteran Lankan cricketer Angelo Mathews has also recovered from Covid-19 and is expected to feature in the playing 11 for the 2nd Test match starting from Friday after having missed the opening game of the series.
