Shreyas Iyer injury : The England tour of India has been getting a good amount of traction due to the competitiveness of both teams. The test series and T20I series have been won by the Indian team. In the shorter format, the England team gave a good fight and the experience of IPL certainly helped the Indian players to take control of the match. The ODI series was started on 23 March which saw India winning the 1st match. This match saw the players of both the teams sustaining injuries. The players like Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer got elbow blow and shoulder injury respectively. The England batsmen Eoin Morgan and Sam Billings are also doubtful for the 2nd ODI due to injury concerns.

Shreyas Iyer injury : Likely replacements
Shreyas Iyer- He got injured in the 8th over of the England’s batting. He injured his shoulder while fielding, he was taken to take scans and wasn’t a part of the team in the second half. He won’t be a part of the team for the rest of the series and will miss a part of the IPL.
Rohit Sharma- Rohit was hit on his right elbow, while he was batting and he did not take the field in the second innings. He might pave the way for Gill to play in the 2nd ODI. Gill can open for the team with Dhawan or could give an extra option in the middle order.
Rishab Pant would make way into the team, if Iyer misses out on the next, which he most probably will, KL Rahul is keeping and Pant could play as a wicketkeeper or as a fielder himself.
Surya Kumar Yadav could make his ODI debut, if Rohit misses out the next and he is the most viable option out of all, as if he included in the team; Rahul can open with Dhawan. Surya can bat at No.4 and can take the place of Iyer or Rohit.

While, KL Rahul returned to form in the 1st ODI. The Indian bowlers performed quite well to make a terrific comeback in the match and defended the score.
The England team gave away too many runs in the death overs. Altough the team got off a blistering start in the first 15 overs with the help of Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow. After their dismissals, the team could not maintain the same momentum and were all-out while chasing the score.
