Shpageeza Cricket League is set to begin from 13 September

As most nations around the world are slowly getting back to normal life after tackling the deadly coronavirus, live sporting actions are also set to restart in those countries. Afghanistan is the new member to the list of countries that have resumed their cricketing action post-COVID-19 testing times. After ECB and CSA successfully hosted the Test series against West Indies and 3 Team Cricket respectively, Afghanistan Cricket Board has officially announced that their premier domestic tournament Shpageeza Cricket League will be starting in September.
Cricket resumes in Afghanistan in September through Shpageeza league
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Saturday, July 18 announced that the 7th edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League, which is Afghanistan’s premier domestic T20 cricket tournament will kick off in September, at the Kabul Cricket Stadium.
The much-awaited seventh season is expected to start from September 13 and will run for a period of two weeks till the final to be held on the 25th of September 2020. The tournament will be broadcasted live on Afghanistan’s prominent channel 1TV. The league which started in 2013 has as of now completed six seasons successfully and even received the Twenty20 status from ICC in 2017.
Since there are not many International matches going on due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, all the major Afghan International players along with the emerging U-19 stars are expected to participate in the tournament.
