India won the toss and opted to bat first at MA Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru against Afghanistan in their maiden Test.
Shikhar Dhawan hit his seventh Test century against Afghanistan and became the first Indian to score a century before lunch.
Dhawan brought his ton in 87 balls to become the sixth player in the history of cricket to achieve this feat.
David Warner was the last to make this record who registered a century against Pakistan in 2016-17.
VT Trumper was the first player to do so against England in 1902.

What a day for @SDhawan25. 1st Indian to a century before lunch on day 1. Only five before him in history. Reminds me so much of that test in Galle where he got 190 before tea.

Century for @SDhawan25!!! The game of cricket looks attractive when he’s batting. What a knock by Gabbar.
