The England all rounder is playing for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League in UAE where the WT20 is going to take place. He suffered an injury while playing the game against Rajasthan Royals in Abu Dhabi which has ruled him out of the remainder of the IPL along with WT20.

Tom Curran to replace Sam Curran
Tom Curran, the elder brother of Sam Curran who was in the reserves for the WT20 squad will now join the main squad replacing his brother Sam Curran. Though Tom Curran is a downgrade to Sam Curran, the wickets in UAE might suit Tom Curran’s style of play. England already have a like for like replacement for Sam Curran in the form of David Willey in their main squad who is a much better T20 package when compared to Sam Curran.
