Suryakumar Yadav is in unbelievable form and probably the best T20I batsman going around in world cricket at the moment. The ICC rankings may suggest otherwise but the manner in which he is demolishing opposition bowlers for fun makes one think otherwise.
IND vs SA: Suryakumar Yadav makes the history books
Not long ago, there were massive criticism over India’s top 3 and their strike rate and their returns. That was the time when Suryakumar Yadav was making a name for himself by scoring a truckload of runs at every given opportunity. He became the best T20I batsman for India that way.
Now, with India’s top 3 in supreme form, one would think that Suryakumar Yadav’s storm would reduce a bit but the Mumbaikar has only gone from strength to strength. He looks unbeatable and it appears like he has atleast 3 shots for any ball that is coming his way. He has now become the fastest batsman to reach 1000 runs in T20I internationals in terms of lowest number of balls faced.
He has a strike rate of 174 and this is over a period of a decent sample size. These are unbelievable stats and India should be lucky to have someone like him in their middle order.
Batsmen | Balls faced to reach 1k | Strike rate |
Suryakumar Yadav | 573 | 174 |
Glenn Maxwell | 604 | 166 |
Colin Munro | 635 | 157 |
Evin Lewis | 640 | 156 |
Thisara Perera | 654 | 153 |
Who Will Win T20 World Cup 2022?
India shaping up well for T20 world cup
India’s top 4 batsmen are in excellent form at the moment. KL Rahul looked out of sorts immediately after returning from injury but he has picked up in the recent few games and is striking the ball beautifully. He is also showing very good intent which went missing in the last so many years now. The two experienced duo in Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli along with Suryakumar Yadav make India’s top 4 easily the best in the world. They would be delighted to step into the world cup with this top 4 in brilliant touch.
