Who won today’s IPL match?: The 20th match of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) saw Rajasthan Royals taking on Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Sanju Samson-led after being outclassed in the first hour of the match bossed the game for most of the time but were under pressure during the fag end. They then soaked in the pressure well and defended 15 runs in the last over to win the match by 3 runs and reclaim the top spot in points table.
Today’s IPL match result
Asked to bat first in Mumbai, Rajasthan Royals had a horrendous start to their innings as they were reduced to 67/4 at the start of the 10th over. Shimron Hetmyer and R Ashwin (28 retd out) then came to rescue and kept ticking the scorecard before unleashing themselves at the death. The Carribean batsman took LSG bowlers to cleaners and displayed an exhibition of brutal power-hitting to help his side post a total of 165 runs on the board after a sloppy start.

Defending the target, Trent Boult gave RR a dream start as he first removed KL Rahul on the very first ball of the innings and then followed it with a wicket of Krishnappa Gowtham on the second ball. Prasidh Krishna complimented him well by removing Jason Holder for 8 runs as LSG found themselves tumbling at 14/3. After a little partnership between Quinton de Kock (39) and Deepak Hooda (25) , RR yet again came on top as they removed the latter and Ayush Badoni (5) in quick succession of time. Yuzvendra Chahal then did the further damage by removing the South African and Krunal Pandya in 16th over. Â With 34 runs needed off the last 2 overs, Marcus Stoinis smashed Prasidh Krishna for 19 runs but failed to score 15 runs in the last over as RR clinched the match by 3 runs.
