After having performed extremely well throughout the league stage of the tournament, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) unfortunately had to settle with the runners-up tag in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) season. However, the Sanju Samson-led RR team will now definitely be hoping to improve things to a great extent and finally win their first IPL title since that famous victory in 2008. The Rajasthan Royals have not made any major changes to their playing combination for the upcoming IPL 2023 season as they already have a well-balanced core of players.
Strongest Rajasthan Royals Playing XI for IPL 2023
The Rajasthan Royals will once again open with the pair of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top after the England captain had a fabulous season with the bat last year where he notched up more than 800 runs in a single season. However, it will be interesting to see whether RR captain Sanju Samson bats at 3 or 4 with the duo of Devdutt Padikkal and Shimron Hetmyer to follow. Hetmyer will have to take the finisher responsibilities this year alongside Riyan Parag who has been in a good nick during the recent domestic season.
Rajasthan Royals bought premier West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder in the mini-auction and he will definitely be looking forward to contribute amazingly well both in the batting as well as bowling departments. RR also have their spin combination pretty much sorted with the duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and leggie Yuzvendra Chahal. Kiwi left-arm pacer Trent Boult will lead the pace bowling attack alongside one of Navdeep Saini or Kuldeep Sen who will bring some tearaway pace. The Rajasthan Royals will be facing Sunrisers Hyderabad in their first match of IPL 2023 on 2 April, 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
