RR Playing 11 2024: Rajasthan Royals Player List, Players Bought at IPL Auction 2024

The former champions went in the auction for only a couple of crucial spots that will give them options as the season evolves. Rajasthan Royals were not among the busiest teams in Dubai. the Sanju Samson-led outfit’s hope of finding a second title was dashed after they slipped to finish fifth in the league phase in IPL 2023, failing to make the playoffs.

The core playing XI looks so strong and convincing which was performing well in the last couple of seasons. Just before the auction, they traded out a very good talent like Devdutt Padikkal to Lucknow Super Giants, in exchange for fast bowler Avesh Khan. Spending almost half of their remaining purse, Rajasthan has added the overseas pacer Allrounder Rovman Powell.

The franchise did not release many players from their core team. They could buy a maximum of 10 Players (3 overseas players) in their Squad for Rs.14.5 Crores. The purse was too small to fill the 10-payer slot.

While three overseas players (i.e. Jos Buttler, Shimron Hetmyer and Trent Boult) almost cemented their places in the playing XI, they needed a good overseas Allrounder in the auction. Now there is Rovman Powell who will bolster the squad. They also needed a good replacement for Ravi Ashwin for the future aspects. They have got Indian talent, Shubham Dubey. Now they have a stronger squad to run into the upcoming season.
