Indian limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma took a splendid catch while fielding on the boundary in the on-going first T20I against New Zealand.
Rohit Sharma stunned Martin Guptill
New Zealand were off to a flyer and cruising along after scoring 80 runs inside 8 overs without losing a wicket when Sharma stunned everyone on the ground with his brilliance. India were in a dire need of a wicket and Indian Skipper handed the ball to Shivam Dube in search of a wicket. While Guptill and Munro were thrashing the Indian bowlers in all parts of the ground, Guptill took his chance against the part-timer Shivam Dube only to be stunned by the Indian vice-captain.
It was the 5th ball of the 8th over when Guptill pulled Dube’s short ball towards deep square leg where Rohit took a smart catch. Rohit kept his eyes on the ball, he always knew he was right in front of the ropes – stumbled backwards as he completed the catch, didn’t panic, lobbed the ball in the air, settled himself, ran back inside and completed the rebound.

Due to the timely-breakthroughs, the Indian team still managed to stop New Zealand to a total of 203/5. New Zealand managed to cross a total of 200 riding over the fifties of Colin Munro, Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor. However, they once look to post a total of at least 230 runs.
