Proud and Happy
Rohit Sharma was the picture of pride and happiness after his team crushed Pakistan on Wednesday. He was especially appreciative of the bowlers because he knew the conditions were tough bowling conditions. The weather was sultry and hot but the bowlers delivered an excellent performance despite all odds.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar picked up 3 for 15 runs, Jasprit Bumrah bagged 2 wickets for 23 runs, Kedar Jadhav impressed with 3 for 23 and Kuldeep Yadav managed 1 for 37. The bowling was on point as Pakistan was all out for 162.
Learnt their lesson
In the post-match presentation, Sharma revealed that the team had taken a lesson from the previous match and stuck to their plans. The spinners had kept it tight which allowed them to pick up the crucial wickets. Sharma did not simply want to give Pakistan a chance to start smashing because they have some quality players who can do just that. Though the 82-run partnership of Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik was alarming, Sharma ensured his team did not lose their cool.

However, the surprise element was definitely Kedar Jadhav. Sharma said that batsmen across teams find it hard to hit the side-arm off-spin, which Jadhav bowls. He is very serious about his bowling and has worked hard on it, which is why he is a crucial wicket-taker, said captain Rohit Sharma.

The match
Even Man of the Match Bhuvaneshwar Kumar was appreciative of his fellow bowler’s skill. He said that Jadhav had bowled well in the absence of Pandya and on that track, where the ball wouldn’t swing, it was important to bowl back of a length and to try and hit the stumps. The tracks were flat and the weather was unforgiving, so it was easy for the batsmen to slip up.
Never easy to play back to back ODIs, especially when the 2nd is against Pakistan. Excellent all-round effort #TeamIndia! Congratulations. #AsiaCup2018 pic.twitter.com/gfCmPSDH17

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed believed that their undoing was the poor shot selection by the players. The start was poor and though it picked up in the middle, every player got out on a poor shot, believes the Pakistan captain.
He also said that they were unprepared for a third spinner and it cost them dearly. He was however happy that they got a wake-up call early on in the tournament as they did not want to make the same mistakes and would be better equipped in the future matches.
