After two back to back losses at the hands of their English hosts, team India has been practicing at Trent Bridge ahead of their Saturday third Test match. Seeing as how they are desperate for a victory, a drastic step could be taken now. This could be the inclusion of Rishabh Pant.
The young wicketkeeper-batsman from Delhi could help turn things around for the Indian team. Among the other names, there is Shikar Dhawan, who too could make a comeback and Jasprit Bumrah. People want Virat to come back to the field although he will not be 100%.
When asked about Pant’s inclusion in the playing XIs, coach Ravi Sharstri had this to say. “You will only know about Pant at 11 am on Saturday.” This vagueness from the coach isn’t helping fans. Many fans have pointed to Dinesh Karthik’s bad performance and felt like Pant would be the perfect replacement.
Virat Kohli who had been suffering from pains would be taking a huge risk if he tried to play in the third Test match. Team coach had this to say. “He is getting better and improving by the day.”Again vague comments by the coach and no definite answer on what India’s plans are for the third match.
On the other hand, England coach Trevor Bayliss had the following to say about Virat. “Sometimes players do better when they are playing with an injury and Kohli is a fine player. I have just seen him take some slip catches without any problems, so I’m sure he’ll be playing.” This shows that whatever England is planning for the third Test match, they have Kohli in mind.
Many fans wished for Rishabh Pant to make his debut after the first loss and are still hoping for that before the third match. Another name heard is Jasprit Bumrah to replace Kuldeep Yadav who didn’t do much during the last Test match.
