The time finally running out on Dhawan’s Test career
Shikhar Dhawan who has been in swashbuckling form in white-ball cricket, more specifically in the ongoing Asia Cup, is expected to face the axe from the Test side following a disastrous Test series in England where the Southpaw could accumulate a mere 162 runs in eight innings at an average of 20.25.
Shikhar’s problem with the moving ball in Test cricket was again exposed to the hilt in England where the left-hander, despite making subtle adjustments to his technique, failed to come in terms with the English bowler particularly, Jimmy Anderson.

Shaw in-line for a Test debut
According to the reports in Indian Express, the 32-year-old might make way for Prithwi Shaw and Mayank Aggarwal (highest run-scorer in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy); both of whom have had a spectacular season with India A as well as in First Class cricket since 2017.
Prithvi Shaw, who was named in India’s squad for the final two Tests in England is the front-runner to make his debut after plundering truckloads of runs (1418 runs at an average of 56.72 and seven tons) with India A as well as Mumbai.
KL Rahul, who scored a magnanimous 149, in the last innings of the 5-match series in England is expected to get another chance in the 2-match series against the Windies.
Shaw and Aggarwal named in Board President’s XI Squad
Both Shaw and Mayank Aggarwal have been named in the Board President’s XI against the Windies starting from September 29th before the 2-match Test series gets underway at Rajkot from October 04, 2018. The series will be followed by five ODIs and three T20Is.
