For the Lucknow Super Giants, both Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran scored match-winning half-centuries each in crucial situations of the game. However, it was Pooran’s whirlwind innings of 62 runs off only 19 balls that came out on the top and helped him win the Man of the Match award in the RCB vs LSG IPL 2023 Match. He also hit the joint second fastest fifty in the Indian Premier League history that came off just 15 deliveries.

After having lost the toss and being asked to bat first, the Royal Challengers Bangalore got off to an explosive start at the top with both the openers, Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis started striking big from the very first over. RCB smacked an impressive total of 56 runs in the first six overs of powerplay without losing a single wicket. Virat notched up an excellent knock of 61 runs off 44 balls, however, after his wicket, the pair of du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell batted amazingly well during the middle-overs.

Faf smacked a brilliant unbeaten innings of 79 runs that included as many as 5 sixes out of one was a 115 Metre six while Maxwell also scored 59 runs off just 29 deliveries to help the Royal Challengers Bangalore finish with a massive total of 212 for 2 in their 20 overs.
The Lucknow Super Giants did not had the best of starts during the run-chase as they ended up losing the wicket of their in-form opener Kyle Mayers on the third ball. Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya also failed to contribute much with the bat. However, Marcus Stoinis then started smashing the RCB bowlers all over the park as he scored a blazing knock of 65 runs off only 30 balls that included 6 fours and 5 sixes. But, Stoinis and LSG skipper KL Rahul got out instantly as their team collapsed to 105 for 5.
However, the match situation once again changed 360 degrees as Nicholas Pooran unleased his six-hitting abilities to perfection. The West Indies big-hitting batsman went on to notch up the second fastest fifty in the history of the IPL off just 15 balls equalling Sunil Narine and Yusuf Pathan’s record. Pooran blistered an unbelievable knock of 62 runs off only 19 deliveries that consisted of 7 sixes and 4 fours. But the game then changed hands as both Pooran and Ayush Badoni failed to finish the game as the match went towards the final over where the Lucknow Super Giants needed as many as 5 runs off 6 balls.
For the Lucknow Super Giants, Ravi Bishnoi scored crucial three runs in the penultimate over after which Avesh Khan managed to take a bye run off the last ball of the match to guide his team to an incredible victory. This chase of 213 runs by LSG is also the fourth highest run-chase in the history of IPL.
