RCB vs CSK: Why is David Willey Not Playing Today’s IPL 2023 Match?

Faf du Plessis, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, disclosed that David Wiley will not be playing in the RCB vs CSK IPL 2023 match despite being fit and part of the five options for Impact Players who can come into the eleven at any moment during the game. This decision appears to be a strategic move since RCB is already playing four overseas players, namely Wanindu Hasaranga, Glenn Maxwell, Wayne Parnell, and Faf du Plessis, Wiley can’t come into the eleven as an Impact Player. Here’s what Faf du Plessis said at the toss,

“Incredible noise!! We will bowl first. I think the nature of pitches will turn, but 180-200 will be a nice target to change. It is quite a small ground and the ball travels, the surface is good and a little bit of dew could help. No changes in our starting XI but got some tricks up our sleeve for the impact player.”
