RCB Playing XI: Royal Challengers Bangalore have now won two games in a row after a loss at the hand of Punjab Kings in their opening match of IPL 2022. For the first time this season, the Faf du Plessis-led RCB will take a trip to Pune to face Mumbai Indians at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in the second game of the Saturday doubleheader.
RCB are booming with confidence, and they would be bolstered by the return of Glenn Maxwell into the mix. Dinesh Karthik has been the anchor of RCB’s twin wins this season and has emerged as a sheer finisher. DK has done it for RCB not once but twice already and the team will bank upon his finishing abilities for more. How will they shape up for this match? Let’s discuss.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing XI Team news
- Unavailable: Josh Hazlewood
- Josh Hazlewood is yet to join the squad and remains unavailable for this match.
- Anuj Rawat has looked uncomfortable in the three games he has played so far. After giving him three opportunities in a row, he might get dropped for this match and could be replaced by Mahipal Lomror who has been waiting in the wings.
- In Rawat’s absence, we can see Faf du Plessis open either with Virat Kohli or even Shahbaz Ahmed who has been used as a floater so far this season.
- Glenn Maxwell will slot into the XI straightaway for Sherfane Rutherford.
- Maxwell also opens sometimes for Melbourne Stars in BBL. He is another option to open the innings with skipper Faf if Rawat loses his place to Lomror.
- No changes in the bowling department seem to take place and we might see Akash Deep keeping his place.
