Rashid Khan on MS Dhoni: Afghanistan’s wrist spinner Rashid Khan has been one of the hottest assets in the IPL, ever since his debut in 2017. The 22-year-old has been a key member of the Sunrisers Hyderabad unit, but has also made friends from various other franchises as well.
However, one specific individual who Rashid Khan shows utmost respect to is the Chennai Super Kings skipper, MS Dhoni. The World Cup winning captain is often seen giving his expertise to youngsters after a game comes to an end. Rashid Khan too shared his experience with MS Dhoni on YouTube.
Dhoni compared Rashid Khan’s energy on the field to that of Ravindra Jadeja, and advised him to preserve some of it, as it could lead to an injury.
After our matches, the discussions that I have with him have helped me. Last time he told me, ‘You have to be careful while fielding, you slide, throw the ball when it is not necessary, you get aggressive. Because there is only one Rashid Khan and people want to see you more, what will happen if you get injured? Keep this in mind, I tell (Ravindra) Jadeja the same thing’,” said Rashid.
