The former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid has given us many reasons to be proud but this time it is his son Samit Dravid who gave the big news. The legendary cricketer’s son has scored another double century in Under-14 tournament while playing for Mallya Aditi International School in the BTR Shield U-14 Group I, Division II.
Another double ton for Samit Dravid in less than two months
The 14-years old, Junior Dravid has smashed his second double-century in less than two months. His first double century came in the month of December when he was playing for Vice-President’s XI vs Dharwad Zone in an Under-14 inter-zonal tournament.      Â
In the latest tournament, the young batsman played a splendid inning of 211* (not-out) in which he smashed 27 boundaries. His inning helped Mallya Aditi International School t build a huge target of 386/3. In response to which the opponent could only score 254/3, and Samit’s team won the match by 132 runs.
A legacy left behind after Rahul Dravid‘s adieu to international cricket
‘The Wall’ of India team still stands tall as he decided to serve his country even after his career ended internationally. While most of the cricketer enjoy their time after retirement, Dravid made an exception and decided to coach the young players in cricket.
In 2015, Dravid was appointed as the coach of India A and head coach of the U19 team. Under his guidance, U19 made it to the final of the ICC U19 World Cup 2016. After this splendid performance by India U19, the BCCI decided to extend Dravid’s term for another two years. Rahul Dravid’s efforts paid off beautifully when the India U19 team won the glorious World Cup in 2019.
Rahul Dravid has been retired from the coach and is now working as Director (Cricket) of the National Cricket Academy. Rahul Dravid is also responsible for the rise of the young batsmen like Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and many more. Youngsters have credited him time and time again for their their good performances and improvided game in cricket.
